Easy Mommy and Me Looks

Don't you just love when you see a mom and her daughter wearing matching outfits or similar looks? I know I do! As a matter of fact, I have always wanted a daughter for that reason .. plus all the really cute bows! So for this tutorial, I decided to look in my daughter's closet and see what looks I can put together to show you, it is easy to match your little one. So easy, you won't even need to go shopping!

For the first look, I did something very casual: sweatshirt, leggings and slippers. The slippers were something I got for us last month when Target was having a sale. They are still a bit big on my daughter but I couldn't pass them up! For her look, I grabbed a pair of black leggings and a sweatshirt she has actually had since last year. This look went identically with black leggings and a Target sweater (even though it feels more like a sweatshirt) that I have had in my closet for some time.

I continued with the casual theme and went onto other matching sweatshirts we had: CAMO! I actually bought mine from Walmart over the summer and when I saw Old Navy had a similar one for my little one, I had to get it. Our shoes are not identical, but I paired similar color shoes; pinks and purples so we coordinate. Again, this look can be achieved by just taking a basic piece from one wardrobe and looking to see what you have in the other (white sweatshirts, white long sleeve t-shirts, stripes etc).

Next I decided to go for a more dressy but still casual option. Here I grabbed grey cargo jeans from my daughter's drawer and paired it with a white sweater she had and then I did the opposite for me; white jeans and grey sweater. This is a simple and easy way to look like you are matching without really trying! I also paired these outfits with leopard shoes; honestly, I am a sucker for leopard so if we could wear these with every outfit, I would not be mad!

For a more dressy option, I took a basic sweater dress from my daughter's closet and paired it with a tall boot. This look was easy to achieve because I have about 4 pairs of tall boots (don't tell my husband). With a cream dress, the options to pair are endless but I decided to go with this leopard dress that I had in my closet because it matches a leopard bow she has. Again, this look would be super cute with a chambray dress and sandals in the summer. Or even this cream dress with a colored sweater dress for mom.

Lastly (and definitely my favorite) is a classic look using blue jeans. I started off with this really cute peplum top in my daughter's closet. It has a floral print with a lot of colors but mostly pinks and yellows. I decided to add this fuzzy pink vest to bring out the colors in her top. I then went into my closet to see how I can match hers and realized I could use the sweater I used in the first photo in this post but I also had this really nice burgundy cardigan. I paired this fun and bright scarf to bring out the pinks and yellows from her shirt so we can match even more. To finish the look, I added a brown flat for her and a brown boot for me!

To achieve a mommy and me look is easy; use what you have! Check your closet and hers (or his) to see what you already have and see how you can coordinate. You don't have to wear the same exact piece of clothing or the same exact color or print to match. Honestly, anything can go! If you like this tutorial or have any questions, please let me know!
