Easy Real Flower DIY Phone Case

It is time for a new phone case, my current one is starting to look a little tatty around the edges. I knew it had to contain real flowers, so my first thought was to use resin but I wanted a DIY that was more accessible to everyone. I grabbed the clear nail polish and within 30 minutes I had a jazzy new DIY phone case. This craft DIY was so easy and looks really effective, I hope you give it a go!

What you will Need

  • Real flowers
  • Clear Phone Case
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • Gold Leaf (Optional)

How to Make

Make sure your phone case is clean and dry before you start your craft, I used an alcohol screen wipe to remove any dirt and fluff from the inside.

Use a few lengths of masking tape to cover the outside of the camera hole, ensuring the polish doesn’t have a way to spill onto your surface.

Remove the brush from your nail polish and pour a small amount of nail polish inside your phone case, use the brush to spread it around. Add more nail polish as you go to save you pouring more than needed first off. Tap your case against a hard surface to level it and also hold it up to a light source to highlight any missed spots (this is easy to do with clear polish)

Take your pressed flowers, I purchased mine from Etsy, and start placing them face down into your phone case so the front of the flower can be seen out the back of the case. The flatter the flower the better, bulky flowers will cause a gap between the phone and case.

This part is optional but it’s nice to have a bit of sparkle, add small pieces of gold leaf into the wet nail polish, you have to work fast and if you are finding your polish is dry just add a thin layer where you want to add the gold leaf. You could also use glitter or sequins.

Add another layer of clear nail polish to the inside of your phone case, I find it will never be 100% smooth so I add areas of texture and interest by brushing over the polish a few minutes after applying, I really love the unique patterns that form in the polish. Leave the case to dry somewhere flat.

It is as simple as that to create your own DIY pressed flower phone case using clear nail varnish. Feeling fancy you could even press your own flowers between some baking paper in a heavy book. You can guarantee no-one else will have the same phone case as you! Love this!! I’m sure you could also use Mod Podge and use paper napkin pieces or pieces of thin material. It’s endless and way cheaper.

I think I will try this. It looks easy enough even for me to follow. Thanks.
