4 Cute Fall Outfit Ideas for Hot Weather

Here are some ideas to stay effortlessly stylish while transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall.

It can be challenging to find fall outfits for hot weather, but in this collection I’m combining fall accessories with breathable clothes.

Embrace the autumn vibes in comfort and style.

Shorts and cowboy boots

1. Shorts and cowboy boots

Here I’m styling a pair of black faux leather shorts for fall.

Leather and faux leather always say “fall” to me and this is a really chic way to wear them while it’s still hot outside.

I’m pairing the shorts with a basic black and white short sleeve top, for coolness and comfort.

The final touch is an iconic pair of white cowboy boots that I feel really lifts this outfit into a higher category.

They’re comfortable and because they’re not tight on the calf, still cool enough for those warm days.

My bag is a simple black structured bag with gold detailing.

Wide leg jeans and a vest

2. Wide leg jeans and a vest

You can pair jeans with any type of top of course, and this vest is a great fall alternative to a summery blouse.

It’s a medium weight fabric that you can wear later in the season over a t-shirt or sweater, but it also works very well on its own as a sleeveless top.

My wide leg jeans are cropped for extra coolness. Tight jeans can be uncomfortable in hot weather but these allow the air to circulate around your legs. Choose a medium weight denim if you can.

My Western style ankle boots are a classic fall accessory. I’ve chosen a shade of green but you could wear dark brown, black or almost any other color you have in your closet.

Headpiece

I’m accessorizing the look with a headpiece that adds a pop of print to the solid colors in the rest of the outfit. I added gold hoop earrings to keep the look simple and stylish.

I’m using the same bag from the first look - this is one of my go-to bags that look good with so many outfits.

Dress and boots

3. Dress and boots

A sleeveless dress is perfect for when it’s still hot outside.

Once you add some fall touches, you lift it from a summer outfit to one for the new season.

The dress I’ve chosen for this look is a very simple column with a high round neckline, so it’s not too obviously a summer dress.

Boots

I’ve paired it with a pair of cut-out booties in a neutral shade.

I absolutely love these booties! They’re my number one choice for the beginning of fall because they give that autumnal vibe but in a very breathable, comfortable way.

A black wide-brimmed hat is another accessory that instantly adds a fall touch to what could otherwise be a summer outfit.

I’m completing the look with a simple black crossbody bag.

White three-quarter sleeve dress

4. White three-quarter sleeve dress

I feel that any dress can work for fall if you accessorize and layer it in the right way.

This white cotton dress is clearly intended for spring and summer, but let’s add some fall accessories and see how we can make it bridge the seasons.

I’m pairing mine first with a pair of black ankle boots with a thick heel, that I feel instantly turn the dress into a great fall outfit.

I wanted to keep the look super simple and sleek so I’m adding a small black bag with a chain handle.

Fall outfits for hot weather

I hope these four looks give you some inspiration for how you can put together fall outfits for hot weather.

There’s no need to pack away your summer dresses and sleeveless tops just yet. Upgrade them for the new season with fall-style accessories and you can continue to wear them for a few weeks yet.
