Use This Fingerless Gloves Sewing Pattern to Make Cozy Fleece Gloves
My hands are always cold in the winter. I love wearing a nice, warm pair of gloves but I always feel like I can’t do my day-to-day activities with them on. I decided to create a fingerless gloves sewing pattern so that I could have the best of both worlds.
Not only are my hands warm and cozy, but these gloves allow me to go about my daily routine without any struggle! If you want to make a few pairs of these cute and functional gloves for you and the family, this winter, my tutorial is what you need.
Follow a few simple steps and get started on this awesome DIY.
Tools and materials:
- Pattern
- Fleece fabric
- Fabric scissors
- Pins/clips
- Sewing machine
1. Cut the fingerless gloves sewing pattern to size
To kick off this quick and easy DIY, you will need to start with the fingerless gloves sewing pattern. Before you cut the pattern to the correct size, lay your hand down over it to get a more accurate measurement of how small you’ll need to cut it.
2. Cut the fabric
Once you have cut your pattern, fold over your fabric, and lay down the pattern. Make sure to follow the instructions on the pattern for the direction of the stretch of the fabric.
Check that the side opposite the thumb should be on the fold of the fabric and then pin or clip your pattern in place.
Time to start cutting! Cut out two of these pattern pieces on the fold.
3. Sew the gloves
Next, hop on over to your sewing machine. Start by sewing the seam from the wrist to the curve of the thumb hole. It helps to sew using a zig-zag stitch because it will allow for a stretch when wearing your glove so that the seam doesn’t rip.
Leave a seam allowance of ⅜ of an inch.
Next, sew from the other side of the thumb hole to the top of the glove.
4. Trim the seams
Clip your threads and the corner to give the gloves a professional finish and also make them more comfortable to wear. Trim the seam as well using the fabric scissors. Be careful not to cut into the stitching.
5. Turn right side out
Turn your gloves right side out. One of the best things about fleece is that it does not fray so you don’t need to finish the edges but you could always add a piece of fleece binding if you want.

Love it! Thank you. I might try doing something like this using socks!
try modeling them for people...the idea might sell better and over stitching the edges with fancy zig zag stitching or a blanket stitch...then edges won't ravel when washed....
