How to DIY a Honey Deep Conditioner
Bonjour everyone! In this article, I try a DIY honey deep conditioner on my curls and share with you my impressions.
I’ll show you how to make your own natural hair deep conditioner using ingredients you probably have in your kitchen.
Tools and materials:
- Hair mask
- Tablespoon
- Small bowl
- Honey
- Avocado oil
- Hair brush
- Comb with pointed end
- 2 small claw clips
- Shower cap
1. Cleanse your hair
Wash your hair to make sure that you’ve removed any natural build-up or products.
2. Measure hair mask and honey
Add a heaping tablespoon of your go-to hair mask or conditioner to a small bowl.
Next, add a tablespoon of honey.
3. Add avocado oil
Next, add in a tablespoon of avocado oil (or any vegetable oil that you have). Then mix the ingredients until they are blended well.
4. Brush and part your hair
Before applying your DIY conditioning treatment, brush your wet hair to loosen any tangles.
Then use the end of a comb to part your hair to create 2 sections.
5. Apply the deep honey treatment
Now, put some of your DIY conditioning treatment on your fingers and run them through your hair, focusing mostly on the ends.
You want to avoid greasy roots.
6. Braid and clip
Then, braid one section of your hair into a loose braid.
Twist the braid around itself at the roots and secure it to your head with a small claw clip.
Repeat on the other side.
7. Let it sit, then rinse
Put a shower cap over your head and allow the deep conditioner DIY to soak into your hair for 45 minutes to an hour.
Then, rinse your hair in the shower. You might want to use a drop of shampoo on the roots to make sure they remain grease-free.
I also rinsed my hair with rice water infused with rosemary essential oil.
8. Dry
After this, I dried my hair with a microfiber towel. There’s no need to use any leave-in conditioner since the conditioning treatment left over on the hair serves this purpose.
Then I applied flaxseed hair gel and diffused my hair.
Here’s the final result of this natural hair deep conditioning DIY:
It will take a bit longer than normal to diffuse your hair since the oils and honey lock in the moisture.
My hair feels light and fluffy, as if there’s hardly any product in it. The ends are super moist but not greasy or weighed down.

This method can be cheaper than a completely store-bought option, plus it includes some natural ingredients.
