How to DIY an Easy Eyelash Growth Serum for Fuller Lashes
Did you know that many eyelash treatments, like eyelash extensions, can actually cause an infection, allergic reactions or weaken your eyelashes?
Instead of taking that risk, learn how to make this DIY eyelash growth serum, which will promote healthy, full lashes.
The serum can also be used on eyebrows to help with thinning and it lasts for a long time. Just a little goes a long way!
Best castor oil!
Tools and materials:
- Clean dropper bottle or old mascara tube
- Castor oil
- Vitamin E oil
- Fractionated coconut oil
- Lavender essential oil
- Rosemary essential oil
- Cedarwood essential oil
- Clean brush (if using an old mascara tube) - optional
1. Prepare your container
If you choose to use a clean dropper bottle to hold your serum, ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and dried.
If, instead, you are using an old mascara tube as your container, clean it thoroughly along with the brush to prevent contamination.
2. Make the eyelash serum
First, add a half-tablespoon of castor oil to your container.
Follow with one teaspoon of vitamin E oil.
Add a half-tablespoon of fractionated coconut oil. Fractionated coconut oil is made by separating the different fats found in regular coconut oil.
Then drop in three drops each of lavender, rosemary, and cedarwood essential oils.
3. Mix your serum
Close the container securely and shake it gently to combine all the serum ingredients thoroughly.
4. Apply your eyelash serum
For best results, you should use this serum nightly.
Take care not to get the serum in your eyes, as the essential oils can cause irritation. If you have sensitive eyes, you can omit the essential oils.
Apply a small amount of the serum onto your lashes using the clean brush or dropper.
Optionally, you can also apply the serum to your eyebrows for extra growth.
5. How to store your serum
Store your DIY eyelash serum in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
