How to Make a Quick & Easy DIY Deep Conditioner for 4C Hair Growth
We all know that 4c hair needs a whole lot of TLC when it comes to moisture. Often, a store-bought product doesn’t give you that full moisture. That’s why I’ll show you how to make a deep conditioner DIY for 4c hair.
This natural deep conditioner is packed with all the good stuff and takes a few minutes to make. Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Pot
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Stove
- Container
- Shea butter
- Coconut oil
- Avocado
- Raw honey
- Argan oil
- Coconut milk
- Blender
1. Boil the water
In a pot, add some water and wait for it to boil. Then, add a bowl on top; this is where you’ll melt the shea butter.
2. Shea butter
Now, add about ¾ cup of shea butter into the bowl. Use a measuring cup for accuracy.
Just a quick side note: if you want to know what makes a deep conditioner, then the secret is shea butter. It’s super nourishing not only to your hair but also to your skin, and it’s packed with good stuff, like amino acids and collagen.
3. Coconut oil
Next, add ¼ cup of natural coconut oil. Coconut oil really adds that much-needed moisture, especially for 4c hair. It is a vital ingredient for this natural hair DIY deep conditioner.
4. Avocado
Grab your cutting board and cut a ripe avocado. I only use half of it as I feel it’s enough for the ratio of this recipe.
Then, mash it all up!
Ensure to mix up the shea butter and coconut oil as you go along.
All in all, it took around 8 minutes for the ingredients to melt.
5. Raw honey
Once it’s all melted, add some raw honey and whisk it in.
Honey is a natural antioxidant and actually stimulates hair growth - another fantastic ingredient to have for this hair growth deep conditioner recipe.
6. Mix the ingredients
Add your avocado mixture and switch off your stovetop. Now, whisk in the avo. This process can be a little tedious as it requires some physical work, so if you have a blender, you can definitely use that to cut the hassle.
7. Argan oil
Lastly, add a few drops of argan oil. It’s great for nourishment as well as smell.
Tip: If you don't have argan oil, you can use tea tree oil or almond oil.
8. Cover and cool
Now, cover the mixture and place it in your fridge for around 20 minutes.
9. Blend
So, as I mentioned, for those who have a blender, this would also be a great time to use it. As you can see, the mixture is now somewhat chunky, and it needs to be smoother.
So, go ahead and pour the content into your blender, pour half a cup of coconut milk, and…blend!
10. Store
Now, decant your deep conditioner into a mason jar and refrigerate.
