With the right skin care regimen, you truly can change the look of your skin.

Tip 1: Invest in good quality skin care and add retinol to your routine

1. Wash your face

Start by cleansing your face to remove any makeup, dirt and excess oil. If you wore a lot of makeup, repeat a few times until completely removed.

Sleeping in your makeup wreaks havoc on your skin and will make you look older over time.

2. Exfoliate

Twice a week, take the time to properly exfoliate your skin. This makes an enormous difference in achieving natural radiance.

3. Add retinol to your routine

Use a retinol serum 2-3 times a week, at night only, before applying moisturizer.

Retinol increases skin cell production, helps unclog pores, exfoliates and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

At first, your skin might break out or show redness, but if you stick with the retinol, ultimately, your skin will show the benefits.

4. Apply moisturizer and eye cream

Next, apply a generous amount of moisturizer and eye cream to your skin.

Tip 2: Use an LED light therapy mask

This tool is safe for all skin types!

Use an LED light therapy mask for 10 minutes, 5 days a week on clean, dry skin. You can put it on while relaxing during your nighttime routine.

Using LED light therapy mask

This device uses red and near-infrared to reduce wrinkles by 35% in just 4 weeks by stimulating collagen production and encouraging cell renewal.

Results from LED light therapy mask

I noticed after the first month of using this mask that my skin tone, texture and firmness improved.

There are lots of different LED masks out there, all at different price points.

Glowing skin

I also have a hydrogel face mask which can be used with the LED mask or on its own.

It leaves my skin glowy and hydrated. I add this to my skincare routine once a week.

I’ve never been happier with my skin and I don’t even wear foundation anymore!

Tip 3: Build a good sleep routine

Sleep quality should be your priority above everything. It’s clinically proven that sleep deprivation accelerates skin aging.

Sleeping

I always sleep on my right side and I noticed that I have deeper nasolabial folds on that side and my eyebrow is lower on that side too.

When you put repeated pressure on your face while sleeping, you get vertical sleep wrinkles and morning puffiness.

You can train yourself to sleep on your back, but you can also purchase pillows that make this easier!

The pillow I have is called the sleeping glow pillow and it’s designed to cradle your face on either side to prevent sleep lines and morning puffiness.

A bonus perk is that if you have lash extensions, this pillow will preserve them.

Add a silk pillowcase to boost the health and moisture of your hair. It can also extend the amount of time between hair washes.

Tip 4: Try an ice water facial in the morning

Ice causes vasoconstriction which ultimately reduces swelling. This means that if you suffer from acne or puffiness under the eyes from lack of sleep or aging, an ice water facial is fantastic.

To perform the ice water facial, start by filling a large bowl with cold water and ice.

Submerge your face in the ice water for 15 seconds per day. Add this to your morning routine whenever your skin needs a boost.

You can also get the same benefits by using an ice roller or by simply rubbing an ice cube on your face.

Tip 5: Wear sunscreen religiously!

80% of visual facial aging is caused by ultraviolet radiation which breaks down collagen fibers.

Collagen is what keeps the skin firm and plump, so wear a broad spectrum SPF of 30 to 50 every day. Even in the winter! You will thank me later.

Telling people to submerge their face in icewater is DANGEROUS, can affect heart rhythm! Women can just as easily use an icewater-soaked/wrung out facecloth to close pores.
