I love to recycle and transform vintage things and crockery is such a winner!

I believe old broken china has so much potential for up cycling.

Old broken crockery

I find a plate that has Alice in Wonderland characters on it. I’m super excited to see how many I can cut out successfully without ruining to make into little original jewellery pieces.

Cut out ceramic

I use wheeled tile nippers to cut and shape the pieces of china. Always protect eyes from flying China with safety glasses. These make cutting easy and then smooth edges with a mini sanding grind stone.

Sanding grind stone

This little tool makes sanding edges and shaping so easy. Remember to use a face mask to prevent dust inhalation.

Brooch pin

When you’re happy with the shape and smoothness it’s time to attach a brooch pin to that back of the china. First I sand the back to rough up surface that helps the glue secure pin better. The brooch pins are readily available online and I use two part epoxy resin glue which hardens fast. Remember to spread the glue both on pin and the back of china to create a strong bond. Place the pin centrally for a good hand on clothes.

So sweet and unique!
