I Love Linen! Linen Everything!

I made these Fun Palazzo Linen Pants and they were Great(!) until I WASHED them…

Then, the Fit in the Rise was a Tad Too Snug and Too Short. Pulling and Uncomfortable to Wear.

UGH!

What is a Pant Rise? Rise is the distance from the middle of the crotch seam (right between your legs) to the top of the waistband. It usually ranges from 7 inches to 12 inches. Pant rise is important because it determines where your pants sit on your body, which in turn creates your perceived waistline. Apparel Search.

BUT!!! I had a bit of leftover Linen Fabric and with a quick Snip and Pull, I saved the Pants!

You Can Too! SO SEW EASY! My Mantra!

FIXING THE RISE – CREATING PANTS THAT FIT – LENGTHEN THE RISE!

Let’s Go!

Here is the Extra Strip of Fabric.

A bit darker and crisper than the Washed Pants, but we’ll make it work.

Cut Off the Elastic Waistband. Remove the Elastic and Set Aside.

Sew the New Strip of Fabric to the Pants to Create a New Waistband and Lengthen the Rise.

Leave a Small Opening in the Waistband for the Elastic.

Thread in the Elastic to Create the New Waistband.

That’s It! Done! No Pulling or Tugging. Ahh…Comfort!

The panel adds 6" to the rise.

Changing the rise from a low rise, to a high rise.
