What is rosemary water?

As its name suggests, rosemary water is made by cooking rosemary leaves in water for a certain period of time that allows the plant to release its medicinal benefits. By straining the herbal material you will obtain wonderfully fragrant rosemary water that is very tasty to drink like tea but also has many benefits for our hair and scalp.

Rosemary water benefits for hair

Some people claim that using homemade rosemary water as a hair rinse promotes hair growth. Rosemary increases blood flow and stimulates circulation thus promoting hair to grow. The main ingredient responsible for hair growth is ursolic acid that one can also find in the peels of the fruit. It brings more oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles thus creating an ideal environment for hair to grow faster and regrow again.

Likewise, rosemary infused oil is used to improve the appearance of the beard.

Moreover, Rosemary is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which help to nourish and soothe hair follicles. It also prevents the dry flakes of the scalp that cause dandruff.

This Rosemary rinse can also be used to darken hair. Many women use it to cover the gray in their hair.

Rosemary hair rinse makes your hair soft and shiny and gives them a healthy appearance.

Rosemary Hair rinse

Use this rosemary rinse after washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner while still in the bathroom. Just pour the homemade hair rinse over your hair and leave it in. Don’t rinse it off.

If you want to multiply the effect use this herbal hair growth serum afterwards. It restores nutrients to your strands and scalp and strengthens the roots that ultimately increase hair production and thickness.

Place a few drops of hair growth oil on your fingertips and gently massage into your hair and scalp. Wrap your hair in a warm plain cotton cloth and leave it overnight or several hours. Wash it off the next day.

Every time you just want to dampen your hair over the tube and go. A small spray bottle comes handy to avoid over spray.

If you suffer from an itchy scalp or hair breakage, add apple cider vinegar to rosemary water. After shampooing and conditioning, pour the mixture over your hair evenly, working into your scalp. Let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it out.

Rosemary water can slightly darken your hair over time if used regularly. It can also cover your gray hair. On the other hand if you wish to lighten your hair don’t use this rosemary hair rinse very often, just once a month.

Spray it over your face and use it as astringent.

Rosemary hair rinse possesses astringent properties and is therefore useful in toning slightly oily complexions. Its uplifting scent makes it ideal for use before time of intense concentration.

Can the rosemary water be stored?

I make up a batch and keep a small spray bottle in the shower to use whenever I shower. The rest I keep in a jar in the fridge to refill as needed. It should last up to 2 weeks if kept refrigerated.

Can you make it in a crockpot?

Definitely good idea to use a crockpot to save energy and time. You will need less than one hour in the crockpot. Add some cinnamon sticks for the scent.
