These shorts are so easy to make and are perfect for July 4th.
If you’re trying to figure out a way to look adorably patriotic on the 4th of July weekend, this project is a must-try.
This is such a great way to customize your clothes!
Tools and materials:
- Old jeans
- Scissors
- White paint
- Sponge
- Paper plate
1. Prep work
The first thing you will need to do is find a pair of old jeans. You can take an old pair that are lying around in your closet.
If you don’t have any old jeans you’re willing to sacrifice for this project, go to your local thrift store and pick up a pair.
2. Cut
Lay out your jeans and figure out how short you want your shorts to be. Cut the legs off at the desired length.
Next, create your stencil. I did this using a paper plate.
Just draw a star and then cut out the shape.
3. Decorate
Pour some fabric paint on a plate. Use a sponge to apply the paint to the shorts.
Place your stencil where you want to add your stars, dab the sponge in the paint and then dab it on the shorts.
Make as many stars as you like.
