Today, I’m going to show you how to create smokey eye makeup in just 2 easy steps.

You only need 2 products to achieve this beautiful, brown, smokey eye. Let's get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Black eyeshadow stick
  • Eye makeup brushes
  • Brown eyeshadow
  • False lashes and tweezers (optional)
Natural socket line

Before you begin, choose which kind of smokey eye makeup you want to create. You can follow your natural socket line resulting in a rounded, smokey eye.

Alternatively, you can create a winged, smokey eye which is my preference because it elongates the shape of the eye.

Winged smokey eye

1. Apply a black base

Start by applying black eyeshadow above your upper lashes for the base of your smokey eye.

Then, buff that color into the skin, toward the socket line where the eye naturally creases.

Blending

If you’re going for a rounded, smokey eye, you can leave it like this:

Black eyeshadow

For the winged, smokey eye, apply more black eyeshadow to the outer edge of the eye.

Adding more black eyeshadow

Then buff that area to blend it in with the rest of the eyeshadow.

Blending

Drag the brush with the same shade under the lower lash line.

Applying brown eyeshadow

2. Apply brown eyeshadow

Using a flat brush dipped in a matte brown eyeshadow, apply a gradient from the top of the black eyeshadow, getting lighter toward the brow bone.

Blending

3. Apply false lashes (optional)

To give your smokey eye makeup a boost, add a pair of false lashes.
