Shirred tube white crop top

Make the pattern

This is a simple white crop top with a shirring effect. It’s very easy to sew and looks fab. Take your fabric and measure 20cm (7.87 inches) in length. This also includes seam allowance. Then measure your bust and multiply it by 1.5. That will be your width.

Mark these markings as mentioned above on your fabric and cut accordingly.

Sew the folds with a straight stitch.

How to sew a white crop top

Draw a mark every ½ inch across the length of the top. This will be your guide for shirring the white crop top.

Simple white crop top

Shir the top by stitching straight lines across the bodice. Place the fabric right side facing when sewing and stretch the fabric as you sew. Remember to use an elastic thread for this step. Repeat this step until you’ve stitched all the lines.

TIP-

When shirring, be sure to backstitch at the beginning and end of every line.

Fold the top right sides together and pin the side edges. Then, sew the side seam with a straight stitch and then a zigzag stitch to prevent the fabric from fraying.

Iron or steam the top to make it look professional.

Tie-front white crop top

Make the pattern

On your fabric, mark out the length at 20cm (7.78 inches). The width is around 150-160cm( 59-62 inches), depending on how long you want the tie to be. Then, cut out the pattern,

Fold the fabric wrong sides together and make a mark on the side at 5cm (1.9 inches).

Then from that mark, angle your measuring tape diagonally until it reaches the top and draw a line across, as shown.

Cut along the line; this will make the edge of the top slimmer.

Hem the tie-front crop top

Double fold the lower and upper edge and pin right across. Then, sew the folds with a straight stitch.

Make & attach the straps

For the straps, make them around 2cm (.7 inches) thick and 60cm (23.6 inches) long. Cut out five strips ( one extra, because you never know if you make a mistake).

Fold the fabric strips right sides together and sew with a straight stitch.

Turn the straps right sides out with the help of a bobby pin.

Fold the bodice and make a mark on the side edge.

Open the bodice and measure around 9cm (3.54 inches) on either side from that mark and make a mark. This is where the straps will be attached.

Then, measure 20cm (7.87 inches) from either side of the marks and make another mark; this is for the straps in front.

Pin the straps accordingly and sew to secure.

This white crop top is super cute and has a lovely design, don’t you think?

Long sleeve off-shoulder white crop top

Make the pattern

The pattern for the bodice is fairly simple. The length is 28cm (11 inches), and the width is your bust measurement plus another 15-20cm (5.9-.7.87 inches). Cut accordingly.

Make the white crop top

Double fold the upper and lower edge, pin, and sew with a straight stitch.

Now, make a mark at 4cm from the upper and lower edge.

Then, sew the elastic where the mark is.

TIP- Be sure to pull the elastic while sewing.

Place the fabric right sides together, pin the edges, and sew.

Make the sleeves

To make the sleeves, measure your underarm area to your wrist. My measurement was: length 72cm (28.3 inches) and width 45-50cm (17.7- 19.6 inches).

Double fold the upper and lower edges, pin them and sew them.

Then, mark 3cm (1.1 inches) from the upper edge. Then, mark 15cm (5.9 inches) from the first mark.

Measure 10cm (3.93 inches) from the lower edge and make a mark, too.

Sew the elastic where the marks are.

Place the sleeves, right sides together, pin, and sew the sides. Be sure to zigzag stitch after for a nice, clean finish.

Lastly, sew the sleeves to the bodice, as shown.
