How to Glam up a Holiday Outfit

Hello and happy holidays! December is full of family, decor, food, and of course holiday parties. It can be a challenge to put a cute outfit together in a month that can be tight on a budget. Here are some budget-friendly tips to glam up a basic outfit.

Add a fur collar. Fur and Christmastime just go together and it will instantly glam up a bland blazer. I thrifted this Zara Woman blazer for $10 and get so many compliments on it. Since the fur is removable, it can give new life to all your blazers. I bought them off of eBay for about $12 each in tan, black, and ivory so they would go with just about any outfit.

Go bold in color. There will be a sea of little black dresses at any party, and for good reason, it's a staple you can wear year-round. Bold color has it's own attitude, it gives confidence and it stands out. I added faux leather gloves and a contrasting scarf to tie all of the colors together.

Add a statement shoe. The right shoe can transform an outfit. If you are wearing basic black make sure you have a pop of color in your shoe choice. If you don't have a pair of red or statement heels, loop a holiday ribbon under your heel and tie it into a beautiful bow around your ankle. It transforms any shoe immediately. This is a great trick for any holiday event.

Last but certainly not least is confidence. Take those rare opportunities to glam it up. It is a great confidence booster to wear something that you truly feel beautiful in. Actually loving what you are wearing is the key ingredient. Finding an outfit that fits properly, is a good color for you, and most importantly makes YOU smile is key to outfit success. It does not have to be expensive. I bought the plaid skirt at Ross years ago for $8, the boots were $20 from Poshmark and I thrifted the bag and the blazer. You don't have to spend a lot to look like you do.

I hope your holiday season is blessed and full of joy.
