5 Workwear Outfit Ideas

To those of us who’ve been working from home for months on end, workwear probably feels like a long distant memory. However there are plenty of people still heading into work each day so here are 5 outfit ideas for the office!

An elegant boatneck is a slightly more unusual neckline that you don't see every day. Opt for this over a v-neck to look sleek and modern but still sophisticated for work. Here I've paired mine with a pleated midi skirt which can be styled in lots of different ways including for the office.

Throw in a pair of heels and make them block heels for added comfort. There's no denying stilettos are stylish, but if you're running to and from meetings or getting the bus, a low block heel on a court shoe is the perfect alternative.

Here I've styled the same midi skirt with a roll-neck jumper and a pair of knee-high stiletto boots. If you're desperate to wear a stiletto to the office, a boot is the way to do it! Your feet will feel much more well-supported and therefore more comfortable but you'll look insanely stylish.

If you do spend the odd day working from home, a statement knit like this burgundy jumper from Matalan is perfect for Zoom calls due to the pretty frill detail at the neck and sleeves.

When you're rushing around in the morning scrabbling for keys and trying not to be late, the last thing you want to do is spend 20 minutes rifling through your wardrobe trying to find clothes that go together. It's a great idea to have a range of work dresses in your wardrobe because a dress is an outfit in itself. In the winter months, pair a maxi dress with over-the-knee boots and opaque tights to keep snuggly and warm but still look stylish.

Next is a cosy work-from-home outfit that can easily work for the office if you just switch out the slippers for heeled boots. There are hundreds of gorgeous knits available at the moment to make you feel like you're wrapped up in your dressing gown even when you're out and about. These trousers from Reiss also have the smart look of a trouser but feel like cosy comfortable leggings, so if you're still going into work, you don't have to miss out on the loungewear trend!

Neutrals are hugely on trend at the moment and of course I had to include a fabulous neutral outerwear look. Everyone needs a coat that goes with everything for the office. I love wrap coats and trenchcoats because I find them so flattering for so many different figures. Here I've also added a cashmere scarf and a pair of cashmere gloves with some over-the-knee boots to ensure I stay warm as well as glam.
