How to Make Pom-Pom Earrings
Pom-poms are so festive, so I figured I'd turn a few into earrings! These earrings are fun, colorful, and so easy to make. Follow along and make a bunch of your own today!
Tools and materials:
- Pom-poms
- Wire
- Wire looping plier
- Wirecutter
- Cowry shells
- Earring hooks
- Jump rings
- Pearl beads
- Fabric glue
- Bangles
- Pom-pom lace
Design 1
Cut the wire
Straighten out the wire and cut at 6 inches.
Add a shell
New secure a shell at the end of the wire and cut the extra wire.
Add the pom-poms
Now insert the pom-poms through the wire in the order that you would like.
Complete the earring
Insert a jump ring and secure it by wrapping a wire around it to keep it in place. Create a gap in the jump ring and insert the earring hook through it. Close the jump ring.
Decorate
Decorate the earring with a few pearls. Simply place glue on the pom-poms and stick the pearls on top.
Design 2
Add pom-poms to wire
Take a wire 8 inches in length and insert the pom-poms through it.
Add a shell
Secure a jump ring through the shell and insert it through the wire.
Shape the earring
Insert the end of the wire through the last pom-pom and pull it together to create a circular shape.
Add jump ring
Twist the wires around each other and secure them by wrapping them around the jump ring. Cut off any excess wire.
Insert earring hook
Create a gap in the jump ring and insert the earring hook through it and close it.
Design 3
Wrap bangle with ribbon
Apply a little fabric glue on the bangle and wrap the pom-pom ribbon around it.
Create shell pendant
In order to create the pendant for the earring, take four shells and glue them together. These shells take a really long time to stick together, so let them dry overnight.
Add jump rings
Attach a jump ring through one of the shells and close it. I added two more jump rings to the pendant to add extra length.
Add earring hook
Create a gap in the final jump ring and insert an earring hook through it, the pendant, and the pom-pom bangle, and close it up.
And those are our three earrings. I love all of them - they’re so colorful, and they exude joy. They’re also really quirky and unique; you’re not going to find anything like them in shops. I’m going to be wearing mine on Navratri, but they would also look great worn to a music festival or just chilling by the beach.
