1. Make rice water
Put 2-3 tablespoons of organic rice into a small bowl and pour enough water over the top to completely cover the rice.
Use your fingers to work the rice through the water, rinsing it thoroughly.
Remove the excess water and transfer 2 to 3 tablespoons of rinsed rice into another small bowl.
Add 1 cup of filtered water to the rinsed rice and stir gently with a spoon.
Gently press the grains of rice with the spoon to release the vitamins and minerals into the water.
Cover the bowl of rice and water and leave it to sit for 1 to 2 hours.
Strain the rice water from the bowl into a small jar.
Cover the jar and leave the water to ferment overnight.
2. Use rice water as a spray
To promote hair growth, transfer ¼ cup of rice water to a small spray bottle.
Add 1 tablespoon of castor oil or any other hair oil to the rice water.
Add a spray top and spray the rice water mixture on your hair before you wash it.
Leave the rice water mixture on your hair for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
3. Use rice water for deep conditioning
Pour washed rice water and filtered water into a small pot and cook on a simmer until the rice is soft.
Transfer 2 tablespoons of cooked rice into a small bowl.
Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or other hair oil to the cooked rice.
Now, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of rice water to the mixture.
Blend the mixture into a smooth paste.
Transfer the rice paste to a small bowl.
Apply it to your hair with your fingers about 30 minutes before you wash your hair.
4. Make a rice water rinse
To strengthen your hair, pour fermented rice water into an ice cube tray and let freeze.
Put two rice-water cubes into a jar and add 1 cup of water.
After you have shampooed and conditioned your hair, pour the rice water on your scalp. Massage it in and leave it on your scalp for 5 minutes. Then lightly rinse it off.
Store your leftover rice cubes in a jar for later use.
You can store the rice water hair spray for a week, but if you want them to last longer, then freeze the ice-cubes as you did in Step 4. Then, you can store them for a month.
