Tools and materials:
- Baking soda
- Citric acid
- Coconut oil
- Regular salt, sea salt, or Epsom salt
- Corn starch
- Water
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Small silicone molds in your choice of shape
1. Mix the bath fizzy dry ingredients
Mix the dry ingredients together using these measurements:
- 3 tablespoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons citric acid
- ½ cup corn starch
- 1½ tablespoons Epsom salt
Tip: Although you can use regular salt, sea salt, or Epsom salt for this bath fizzy recipe, you might want to choose Epsom salt if you want to add a scent to your fizzy. In this demonstration, we used lavender-scented Epsom salt for an extra bit of bath luxuriousness.
2. Add the wet ingredients
Pour 1 tablespoon of coconut oil over the mixed dry ingredients, and stir it in.
Now add a few splashes of water to the mixture.
Tip: if you didn’t have scented salt, you could use scented water, for example, rose water, at this stage.
If you want to make your fizzies even fancier, you can put in some small flower petals, basil leaves, or other pretty or fragrant additions you would like.
Keep adding drops of water until the mixture is the consistency of crumbled feta cheese.
3. Mold the bath fizzies
You will need to use your hands for this step, so make sure they are clean and remove any jewelry from them.
Fill the silicone molds with the fizz mixture, using your fingers to pack the mixture in tightly.
Let the fizzies set in the molds for at least 3 to 4 hours, or overnight.
