Chic Ways to Style Trouser Pants

First up, I’m wearing a pair of black silk pants. Silk, as we all know, is a very high quality and luxurious fabric so silk pants are great for wearing to formal events.

I’ve styled them with a gingham print top in a peplum style that also has a bit of a poofy shoulder. The top has a deep-cut neckline that gives you the option of adding a statement necklace if you want to. I added a pair of statement earrings as you can either go for statement earrings or a statement necklace, but not both as this will just look too heavy and overcharged.

For shoes, I opted for a pair of open-toe mules in a bright, bold red color to add a pop of color to the look. I finished off the look with a structured handbag that has a color-block style with black, white, and red. The bag gives the outfit that dressed-up touch that I was going for. 

Here, I’ve styled a pair of pants in a rusty copper color. I’m wearing these pants with a simple white top that stands out against the pants. To accessorize, I added a beaded headband.

A headband is a great way to accessorize your outfit if you don’t want to add heavy earrings or a big necklace or even a belt; you can always accessorize with headpieces.

For shoes, I’m wearing a pair of open-toed mules. I’ve also added a printed blazer to this look which instantly creates a nice workwear outfit. To outfit off the look, I have a white handbag with a gold chain.

Next, I styled a pair of cream silk pants. I’m wearing the pants with a printed top that has some roses on it. The material is very light so it makes a great top for summer. For shoes, I’m wearing a pair of nude flats in a mule style. Lastly, I added a tan quilted bag to finish it off.

For the last outfit, I’m wearing a pair of printed pants. These pants are the bottom of the blazer that I paired with my copper pants. It’s one of my favorite two-piece sets and I love two-piece sets because you can easily mix and match the pieces just like I did here.

I’ve paired the pants with this white top, which is very similar to the first white top and has a little bit of ruffle detail on the bottom.

Here, I’m taking advantage of the wide neckline and I have added a brown statement necklace that helps the outfit pop a bit more and adds some more interest. For the shoes, I added a pair of brown mules with a nice peekaboo open toe. A little wicker bag finishes off the look. This outfit is perfect for my ladies who aren’t such big fans of wearing a lot of colors. If you prefer neutrals, you can definitely go for earthy tones and nude colors. 

How to style trousers

Silk pants, or pants in other elegant fabrics, are a welcome change if you need something for a formal event and you don’t want to wear a dress or a skirt.
