Are you a fan of bridal showers and cute bridal shower outfits?

Do you LOVE a pretty shower? Or are you on Team “No Shower Please!”.

Can you guess where I am on that spectrum?

The blogger who has never met a holiday that didn’t need an associated tablescape?

The Grandma whose grandkids ask if they can see the fabulous “basement room with the beautiful decorations”?

It’s true! I am a sucker for a pretty spring bridal or baby shower! I LOVE picking out presents, wrapping a gift, buying a sweet card, and OF COURSE, selecting a cute bridal shower outfit!

I decided to round up four of my favorite Spring 2023 dresses which would all be perfect for a bridal shower outfit.

In this post...

Bridal Shower Outfits

This year the coolest and most popular style of dress in many shops is the classic shirt dres s. I love a shirt dress as it’s universally flattering, given that it just skims the waist. The midi length is definitely on trend and I’m good with that as it’s an easy length to wear with a little heel. As for colors, blue dresses are really popular this spring. I love blue and am happy to wear it. Periwinkle and cobalt seem to be the most frequently seen shades of blue and I think that works for many women. I also have seen some pretty florals and they have been in black and white which I LOVE!

Let’s get down to the actual bridal shower outfits!

Bridal Shower Outfit #1
Talbots belted shirtdress-floral garden, Nude shoes

This belted floral shirtdress dress surprised me. It looked just okay on the hanger, but once on, it was very flattering. It’s 100% cotton and has three-quarter-length sleeves. I know many of my followers prefer sleeves to sleeveless dresses and this is a comfortable length for a sleeve. I think Spring can be so cool, thus a longer sleeve is more practical. It has a pretty split neck, is 100% cotton, and is lined in all cotton as well. I mentioned above that blue dresses are very popular this year and here is an example of that.

I wore my favorite type of shoe, a nude pump with a bit of a block heel. Pro-tip: Nude heels go with just about everything in my closet and they are so flattering because even with this ankle strap, my leg is still elongated since the nude color matches my skin tone.

I am usually not a fan of ruffles or flounces on hems, but this one along the hem is so soft. It gave a nice sense of movement (see top photo) and was fun to wear.

Bridal Shower Outfit #2
Poplin fit and flare dress-clover stripe, nude heels

This pretty almost periwinkle blue striped shirt dress was a blast to try on! I loved the pockets and the vertical stripes. Pro-tip: Vertical striped are always so slimming. (The dress has a self-belt and as I was trying it on with my girlfriends who were visiting, I didn’t notice that I hadn’t tied the belt.) This dress would also look terrific with a woven leather belt or a nude patent leather belt. Unfortunately, the Talbots store in Palm Desert, California doesn’t sell belts, so you’ll have to use your imagination.

Bridal Shower Outfit #3
Dotted Butterflies Poplin Shirtdress, nude heels

For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know I love black and white together. This dress really caught my eye for several reasons. I loved the butterfly print (very on-trend this spring) and the pockets.

The neckline is flattering and not too low. There is a self-belt but it’s hard to see in the photo due to the print. Again I love my nude pumps as they just hum along in the background, allowing the dress to be the star of the show.

The dress has a bit of a fit and flare waistline which I find very flattering and feminine. Lastly, the three-quarter-length sleeves are softly flared which I liked a lot.

Bridal Shower Outfit #4
Trailing Tulips Midi Dress, nude shoes

This last Talbots dress was the dressiest style. The dress is called the Trailing Tulips Midi Dress. It’s a very feminine style with a jewel neckline, hidden back closure, and a soft fit and flare style, with a self-belt. It hits below the knee and above the ankle in a true midi style. Pro-tip: It’s very important to pay attention to where a below-the-knee dress hits your leg. You want it to fall either above or below the biggest part of your calf so as to avoid drawing attention to that fullest spot. This dress on my 5’4″ frame clearly hits below the fullest part of my calf.

All four of these Talots bridal shower outfits hit below the fullest part of my calf. This is a detail worth paying attention to and noting. If the dress hits you in the wrong spot, it can typically be shortened to a more flattering spot on your leg.
