3 Ways to Style a Maxi Skirt for Fall

I love maxi skirts, especially those that have an elastic waistband since they easily convert into multiple outfits

Sometimes you just have to think outside the normal fashion box to create your own one-of-a-kind outfit.

I purchased this maxi skirt at Goodwill for just $6. Thrift stores are full of cute and affordable skirts just waiting to be transformed. I always try to go up a size to make sure it will fit using it as other pieces.

Converting a maxi skirt into a cape is quite easy as long as it is wide enough to cover your shoulders. You put the waistband around your neck and secure the 2 ends with a brooch. Very simple and it does not alter the skirt permanently. When shopping for a skirt, drape it around your shoulders and check that the length and width cover where you would like it to hang. Make sure there is not too much fabric bunched at the neck, you want it to be comfortable

Pull the elastic waistband up over your chest to create a strapless dress. The waist will be baggy so a belt is a must. Using a blazer and belting it gives it quick definition.

In this outfit, I am wearing the skirt as intended. An easy way to turn any skirt into fall wear is by adding a turtleneck. A chunky belt gives definition and visual interest.

Adding a simple cape blazer to the last look makes it less casual and perfect for the office.

If thrifting is not your thing, Shein.com has a similar skirt for $15. If you order on Sundays, shipping is FREE. Getting multiple outfits for one low price is always a fashion win!

Blessings,

Eden
