Cutting out a circle for the minion eye

1. Cut out a circle

Use a circular shape to trace out a circle on your styrofoam. This circle will be for the minion’s eyeball.

Painting the pupil with black paint

2. Paint the eyeball

Take some black paint, squirt it into the center of your white circle, and use your sponge brush to circle the paint around and make the pupil. Then mix together some white paint and black paint to make some gray and use the gray paint to outline the eyeball.

Gluing the minion eye to a headband

3. Attach to headband

Once the paint dries, grab your black headband and throw on some glue, and then press your eyeball down. Make sure it’s not quite center, but it’s a little more towards the top.

That is the homemade minion costume complete! Throw on your yellow top, blue overalls, black gloves, and eyeball headband, and you’re good to go!

Cat eyeliner for Halloween

1. Paint your eyes

Moving onto the cat costume, it’s pretty much all about your face makeup. You don’t need to have face paint to do this; I’m just using my everyday liquid eyeliner.

Line your eyes, giving yourself some extra long wings. Also, elongate your eye towards the center of your face to give yourself some long, slim eyes.

Painting whiskers for a Halloween cat costume

2. Paint your face

Next, draw on a little triangle nose. Give yourself some whiskers and some little dots by those whiskers. Then, apply some red lipstick.

How to create cat ears with hair

3. Create cat ears

If you’re going to really cheap out and you have nothing at home to create some cat ears, or you don’t already own a pair, you can use your hair!

Create a center parting in your hair and then tie two little top knots on either side. Fasten them with an elastic, and it kind of creates the illusion of cat ears.

How to make a cat ear headband

If you want to make cat ears, then just cut two triangles out of felt that are attached by a long rectangle in the center. Wrap it around your headband and glue just the triangle pieces together.

Repeat the process for the other ear, and then you have your very own pair of cat ears.

Making a cat tail for Halloween

4. Make the tail

To make the tail, grab a black leg warmer or a long black sock. Roll it up and then throw in a couple of pins to keep it together. Pin it to your leggings, and you’re done!
