How to DIY a Super Easy Cream Eyeshadow Stick
Hey guys! We’re going to show you how to make a really simple DIY cream eyeshadow. We have had a lot of requests for tutorials on make-up, so this is a tutorial for an amazing eyeshadow stick.
We love creating our own beauty products and this one is such a good one. We are so excited to share it.
The best thing about this DIY is that it is so simple, you only need 4 ingredients. You don’t have to worry about toxic chemicals or any mystery ingredients. Let’s get started!
Best castor oil!
Tools and materials:
- Beeswax
- Castor oil
- Shea butter
- Old makeup
1. Gather ingredients
You’re going to need 2 teaspoons of either beeswax. If you don’t have beeswax you can use 2 teaspoons of soy wax.
You will also need 2 teaspoons of shea butter, and 2 teaspoons of castor oil.
2. Repurpose old makeup
The last ingredient is any old or broken eyeshadow that you have lying around. You can really use any old, leftover makeup you have. You can even use bronzer or any other makeup color you have that you want to use as an eyeshadow color.
Feel free to experiment and get creative. You can even mix colors to create your own new and unique color.
You will also need an old ChapStick or lipstick container. Simply empty it out to use it as the eyeshadow container.
3. Combine and melt your ingredients
Melt your beeswax over a small flame, or if you used soy wax melt that.
We actually didn’t even use a stove for this. We just lit a candle and held this miniature pan that’s really just a metal measuring cup.
Hold the beeswax over the flame for about 30 seconds.
Once it starts melting you can add your caster oil. Then add your shea butter. Melt and mix all of these ingredients together.
4. Add the color
Once all the oils are well mixed you can add your color.
We’re adding more than one color to create our own unique blend. We’ve actually made a few different colors already and they work amazingly.
5. Prepare for storage
Fill your ChapStick bottle and put the cap on. You can leave this overnight to harden.
Alternatively, if you’re in a rush you can put it in the refrigerator for a few hours to get it to harden faster.
6. Enjoy the finished product
This stuff isn’t even just eyeshadow, you guys. You can use it for all sorts of things. You can use this formula to create a highlighter or even lipstick. You could make blush.
We made one that’s a really beautiful, almost white, kind of shimmery color. It’s more of a highlighter, so we put it on our lips, our cheekbones. We used it as eyeshadow too, of course.

Can you substitute the castor oil for another oil?
I'm trying to go toxin-free when it comes to my makeup. That said, can you recommend something other than by old eyeshadow to achieve the color?
