Who doesn’t love a good glazed donut? So, why not try glazed donut nails?

Follow this tutorial for step-by-step instructions to create these amazing pink glazed donut nails. Hailey Bieber did, and now it’s your turn!

I start with false gel tips, but you can go right ahead and do this on your natural nails, if you prefer.

Tools and materials:

  • False nail tips (optional)
  • Acrylic nail cover powder
  • Clear top coat
  • Clear base coat
  • Non-sticky top-coat powder
  • Chrome nail powder
  • Cuticle oil
  • Nail file
  • UV lamp
  • Assorted brushes and applicators
Applying base coat

1. Apply acrylic base coat

Begin by applying a thin layer of light pink acrylic cover powder to your nails or false nail tips using a medium nail brush, and building it up gradually.

Apply the acrylic to your whole nail, while holding your hand so your nails are pointing down.

Keeping your nails pointing down, instead of lying flat on a surface, will give you a very clean cuticle and side-wall application.

Tip: Pay attention to the temperature in the room where you are doing your nails. It will take longer for acrylic to dry in a warm room.

Applying top coat

2. Apply top coat

Apply a clear top coat over the acrylic cover powder and cure for 30 seconds.

3. Add another top coat

In order for the chrome powder to stick in the next step, you now need to add a non-sticky top coat, and cure for 30 seconds.

Applying clear base coat

4. Apply clear base coat

Next, apply a clear base coat, which will keep your final top coat from peeling away from your nail.

Applying chrome

5. Add the chrome

Use a small sponge eyeshadow brush to apply the chrome nail powder to your nails.

Don’t worry if it gets on your skin or cuticle because it is easy to remove with a paper towel and a little rubbing alcohol.

6. One more base coat

Cover the chrome with one more clear base coat and cure for 60 seconds.

Finishing with top coat

7. Finish with a final top coat

Apply one more clear top coat and cure for 60 seconds.

Filing nails

8. File as necessary

Use a nail file to clean up the sides and fix any shape imperfections.

Applying cuticle oil

9. Remember your cuticles

Apply a little cuticle oil to your cuticles to keep them healthy.
