How to Make & Use an Effective DIY Sugar Foot Scrub
Today, I'm sharing my DIY sugar foot scrub recipe. I’m a woman who likes to take good care of her feet.
For me, that starts with getting all of the dry and dead skin off. You can read how I do that in my previous tutorials on a home remedy with apple cider vinegar and a Listerine and vinegar foot soak for dead skin.
The next stage is to exfoliate. Here, I’m going to show you how to make an organic sugar foot scrub to help keep your feet nice and soft. Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Raw honey
- Lemon
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Coarse brown sugar
1. Add the ingredients to a bowl
Start by putting the sugar into a bowl. I’m using two tablespoons, but you can choose to use as much or as little sugar as you prefer.
Then, squeeze your lemon on top of the sugar - I used half a lemon which is about two tablespoons of lemon juice. Try to go for freshly squeezed lemon juice, as it has many more health benefits than the bottled kind.
Next, put in one and a half tablespoons of honey. The last ingredient is one tablespoon of olive oil (or coconut oil, whichever you prefer).
2. Mix
Proceed to mix all of the ingredients together. Make sure you are not crushing as you mix. Be gentle and make sure that the sugar does not dissolve but stays in its coarse state.
Once you have mixed your scrub nicely, then you are done!
How to use a sugar foot scrub
Now that you have made your scrub, you can use it not just on your feet but on your hands as well.
Make sure that you are gentle when you use this scrub because it is a little bit rough on the skin, but that’s the best way to remove dead skin.
You can also choose to replace the sugar with Epsom salt, and it will still give you the same results.
The amount that we have just made usually allows me to have at least three uses. In between usage, store the mixture in the fridge.
