Are you craving a chic headband look, but you don’t have the perfect headband to match your outfit?

This look creates a headband out of braids for a sophisticated, yet stylish hairdo. Let’s jump right into it!

Tools and materials:

  • Small rubber bands
  • Bobby pins
  • Clips
Parting front sections

1. Part away the front sections

Separate the front sections of your hair and clip them to keep them separate.

This will be the part of your hair that would be “pushed back” by the headband.

Pulling hair back

2. Pull your hair back

While we work on the front of your hair, go ahead and pull back the rest of it for now.

Pinning hair back

3. Pin the two sections behind your head

Remove the clip from your two front sections and pull them back, tucking them neatly behind your ears.

Pin them in the back.

Separating section

4. Separate a small section underneath the hair

Let down the hair you put up and take a small section of hair from the bottom layer.

Braiding hair

5. Braid the section

Braid the section with a simple three-strand braid and tie it off at the end.

Wrapping braid across crown

6. Wrap the braid across the crown

Wrap the braid across the crown of your head and pin it behind your ear.

Wrapping second braid

7. Wrap a second braid

Repeat steps 4-6 on the other side, creating a second braid. This braid should sit in front of the other.
