Cleaning nails

1. Clean and dehydrate your nails

You need to make sure you start with clean nails. You can do this by dehydrating your nails with a quick rub of nail polish remover.

This will remove any excess oils from your nails.

Adding base coat

2. Add base coat

Once your nails are dry, add a coat of clear base coat, and let that dry.

First coat of nail color

3. Add first coat of nail color

Now, apply one coat of sheer pink or beige nail polish, and let that completely dry.

Adding nail tip guides

4. Place nail tip guides

Peel off a nail tip guide with tweezers and place it on your nail right below your natural white nail tip line. Firmly press the nail tip guide on.

Think of the nail tips guides as painter’s tape that you would use if painting a wall. It will ensure a nice clean painted nail tip line.

Painting nail tips

5. Paint your nail tips

Now you can use your white nail polish to paint the tip of your nail above the nail tip guide.

Painting nail tips

Don’t forget to polish the edge of your nail tip as well.

Peeling of nail tip guide

Use your tweezers to peel off the nail tip guide before your white polish dries.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 on each nail, going one nail at a time.

Adding topcoat

6. Add a topcoat

Let your French-tip nails dry completely, then apply a fast-drying topcoat to all of your nails, including the edges.

Cleaning up

7. Clean up any mistakes

Use a Q-tip, dipped into nail polish remover, to carefully clean up any nail polish that’s where you didn’t intend it to be.
