Do You Have Droopy or Hooded Eyes? Try This Eye-Lift Makeup Trick

I’m going to show you one of my favorite anti-aging eye-lift makeup tricks! It’s super easy, and you'll love how it gives your eyes this fantastic lift.
I actually use this makeup trick regardless of how much eyeshadow I put on. It works great for day-to-day looks as well as evening looks. So, for all the ladies who want to know how to lift hooded eyes with makeup, keep reading.
Tools and materials:
- Assorted eyeshadows
- Assorted brushes
- Foundation
- Liquid highlighter
- Concealer
- Mascara
- Makeup sponge
1. Prep time
Before we get into the actual eye-lift makeup tutorial, go ahead and apply your foundation and concealer around your eyes. Also, go ahead and groom your brows as you normally would.
2. Apply eyeshadow
I absolutely love eyeshadow, but through the years, I’ve had to learn some special application techniques to avoid droopiness.
As you know, our eyes tend to go south as we get older. This includes droopiness on the outer corners of the eyes and hooded eyelids.
So, start applying a neutral eyeshadow over your mobile eyelids. I’m using a light pink tone.
Apply the base eyeshadow all over your lids, and bring it up slightly over the crease. Light colors help any other eyeshadow you apply on top look more vibrant.
Next, I’m going to use a medium-light brown matte color.
I highly recommend applying this color above your socket area if you have hooded eyes. You don’t want to deepen that crease with a dark color. So, placing it above will take away any emphasis on your hooded eyelids.
Use gentle strokes when applying, with a slightly circular motion, too. Take the color out, straight across your lid.
Next, go for a darker brown and apply this to the outer corners of your eyes. Apply this eyeshadow from the corner, moving inward.
As you can see, when I open my eyes, the dark eyeshadow on the outer corner flows with the light brown eyeshadow just above my socket, but it’s dragging my eyes downward, which is something I have to avoid.
3. Add definition
Ok, before we clean up the outer eye area for that youthful lift, let’s quickly focus on the lashline.
Apply black eyeshadow along your upper lash line to give your eyes more definition. This method is really fantastic if you’re not so great at using liquid eyeliner.
Next, apply your mascara and use a lash curler as it really helps lift your eyes.
4. Use a highlighter pen
Now for the instant eye-lift makeup trick you’ve been waiting for! Use a luminous highlighting pen and sweep it up from the corner of your eye. This gives the illusion of pulling the eye upward.
Tip: If you do not have a highlighter pen, you can use your foundation, too.
Blend the highlighter with a makeup sponge. Do this gently as the area around your eyes are pretty sensitive.
Then pat your finger across the line for a smoother and more natural blend.
