If you’re over 50 too, you know that shimmery or sparkly eyeshadow doesn’t always look good on our crepey eyelids.

Here’s a way to make a DIY cream eyeshadow with some shimmer to it without the crepiness.

Tools and materials:

  • Cream foundation
  • Shimmer eyeshadow
  • Darker matte eyeshadow
  • Blusher
  • Flat eyeshadow brush
  • Eyeshadow blending brush
  • Blusher brush
Applying base

1. Base

Using your finger, dab a light colored cream foundation over your mobile eyelid, up to the socket line.

Adding shimmer

2. Add shimmer

Still using your finger, dab the shimmer shadow of your choice over the cream foundation.

Adding shimmer

Take it right into the inner corner of your eyelid and up to the socket line. Add another dab on your brow bone.

Contouring eye

3. Contour

Put a darker matte eyeshadow on a flat eyeshadow brush.

Contouring eye

Apply to your outer mobile eyelid and into the socket crease.

Blending

4. Blend

Blend really well, pulling the matte shadow towards the brow bone and making sure each shadow blends seamlessly into the next.

Adding blush

5. Blush

Add a touch of color to your lips and upper cheekbones. Blend the blusher in well.
