How to Wear Colour Through Fall

When the weather starts to cool down and the rain returns, I often find myself transitioning my wardrobe to entirely neutral pieces. However, this fall I was inspired to continue styling colour in my day to day looks and thought I would share some tips on how to play with colour during this fall season.

In this look I styled an oversized pastel yellow button up shirt with some black leather pants. These pants are the Aritzia Melina Pants and are worth all of the hype they have received! I did a half-tuck to style the shirt, then popped on some black heels and a white mini bag to tie everything together. I think this approach is a super easy way to stay on top of fall trends while still including a pop of colour.

Next, I styled a neutral, white sweatsuit with some colourful accessories. The set featured text in a light blue shade, so I wore a matching blue crossbody bag and clipped one of my favourite little flower hair clips to the pocket of the pants. I thought this was a fun way to bring out the small amount of preexisting colour while still being a weather appropriate outfit. I think these details also dress up the sweatsuit more and this is the perfect look for a casual afternoon.

Finally, I've been obsessed with wearing orange lately so I had to include this example. I took a classic style combo of a black blazer and a pair of denim jeans, but added an orange crop top underneath to play with a pop of colour. I really like this style because it looks great with any colour, style, or pattern of top because the rest of the outfit is entirely neutral. Try this look out for an afternoon shopping or for a evening out on the town! This look could even work for a more casual meeting.
