8 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

by Stylishserenityblog

Thanksgiving this year will be just as different, but this is one of those holidays that you can still enjoy to its fullest despite the fact that we are in the middle of a pandemic. This year we cancelled so many events, activities, festivities.. Let’s not cancel Thanksgiving! Let’s not cancel the day with our families doing nothing but spending precious time together.

While most of us have been stressed out about many things happening in the world, this is time to give yourself a break and kick back. Do not worry about what you will wear to your Thanksgiving dinner, because I have got you covered! I have put together a few simple and elegant affordable Thanksgiving outfit ideas that will be sure to check off a few boxes on your holiday “to-do” list.

Formal, dramatic look

If the dinner you are going to or throwing will be dressy, a midi or a maxi dress would be a great choice. It won’t scream “opera and ballet,” but will make a glamourous statement. Make-up, jewelry, perfume will only compliment the formal look and make you feel like you followed the dress code to a tee.

This maxi dress offers a lightweight feel and flowy fit for easy movement as you go about your day. The high neckline secures with a single button at the back of the neck to create a cute keyhole detail. Subtle balloon sleeves puff slightly from the shoulders and gather at the wrists for a little extra shape, while the maxi hemline is easy to style with a pair of pumps or ankle boots. This dress comes in several colors, color combinations and patterns. It also comes in a large variety of sizes and will look great on anyone.

For a formal look, it is best to tie a belt, emphasize the waist and design a fluid, elegant look.

Add accessories and elevate your look even more! Swish and swing the night away with the fancy tassel earrings. A row of tassels feels decidedly on-trend in a bold hue while gold lends a chic glint of glamour.

Effortless yet elegant look

What I love about casual-dressy style is how versatile it is. You can literally wear this to a dinner (dinner party), family event, date night, work and a cocktail party. You aren’t just getting yourself a Thanksgiving outfit, but an outfit for work and play.

An elegant drape and flattering fit are all yours in this bias-cut animal print skirt. This skirt is a versatile addition to your wardrobe. It comes in four colors and six sizes.

Work or play look

Rock your next Thanksgiving dinner (and future work meetings) in the polished style of the plaid high-rise skinny ankle pants and long-sleeve sweater with a ruffle detail. These high-rise dress pants come in a chic plaid print that looks great with a variety of tops, and they feature a tapered silhouette that pairs perfectly with earth color loafers.

This outfit makes me dream of ‘normal’ days when we worked and played.. Right now everything is just one blended life..

One-and-done look

Ahhh Sweater Dresses! Sweater Dresses. I cannot stop saying your name. You are just one of the best things that have ever happened in the fashion industry. Do you ever go out of style? I don’t think so.

Sweater dresses can fit very casual and a not-so-casual dress code. They come is different colors, shapes and lengths. Perfect Thanksgiving outfit ideas!

This darling polka dot sweater dress is one of my favorites! Gorgeously gathered turtleneck and shoulders upgrade things a notch for a workday, with a contrasting tie belt that creates a finished look with no effort on your part. Just add loafers, boots or even sneakers and you’re good to go.

Casual (yet trendy) look

I mean, what kind of an “outfit idea” post would it be, if there wasn’t a single outfit idea with skinny jeans, right? Nothing says “trendy and casual” more than a sweater and a pair of jeans. Casual, cute and comfortable. Well, you could always wear heels, add some accessories to elevate the look, but that’s for another post.

These Sofia Vergara mid-rise jeans (honestly, I did not even know she had a fashion line) are so cute! The lace detail at the sides offer a modern update to your skinny jeans with eye-catching results. It really makes these stand out in the jeans crowd in my closet.

This sweatshirt dress can be dressed up (with boots or heels) or dressed down with a pair of sneakers and a denim jacket. This dress is a great choice for your casual Thanksgiving dinner. It offers total comfort with a soft, breathable fabric blend. There is plenty of room in this dress for a traditional Thanksgiving food baby 🙂 Long sleeves complement the mini length, finished with a tiered skirt for subtle dimension. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing a mini dress to your family dinner in fear you might have to play games or babysit, just put on a pair of leggings.

Comfortable look

Last, but definitely not least is a lounge, comfy look. If it’s just you, or you and your other half, and/or you feel like doing it low key, a super soft sweater, joggers and slippers are a fantastic choice! This whole look is under $45!
