This mask is my favorite hair treatment to do, it will not only help you tame frizzy hair but also it will detangle it, making your hair softer, shinier, and healthier. How Flaxseed gel helps in Hair growth

Flaxseeds — Rich source of fatty acids; omega-3-fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid, Lignans, folic acids, vitamins like Vit E, Vit B, and Vit E, and Magnesium this potential food source is a powerhouse of nutrients.

Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medical system share many common approaches and have a long history of practice (Patwardhan et al. 2005). Ayurvedic literature describes more than 200 herbs, minerals and fats for skin care. Flaxseed is believed to bring mental and physical endurance by fighting fatigue and controlling aging process. How to Make This Mask for Hair growth??


  • To make the Flaxseed Gel Mask you only need two ingredients: Flax seeds and water.
  • Take a saucepan, to this add 2 cups of water and a quarter cup of flaxseeds.
  • Bring this to boil on a low, medium flame. Meanwhile, Keep stirring the mixture with a spatula.
  • Simmer and continue stirring until you see a cloudy frothy gel-like liquid resembling the egg white consistency.
  • Keep the flame low and simmer the mixture for about five minutes. Turn off the flame and let it cool down.
  • Squeeze out the gel using a clean muslin cloth.
  • Store in an airtight- container or a squeeze bottle.
How to use the Flaxseed gel mask for Hair??Application:

Lightly spray your hair with lukewarm water and run a wide-tooth comb to detangle your locks. Section your hair and start applying the freshly squeezed flaxseed gel. Once done, cover your hair with a shower cap and keep it on for 30 mins. Later rinse it off with a mild shampoo and conditioner. It is that simple. You can Netflix and chill with this mask on. It literally feels like hair gel.

This reminds me, that you can also use this as a styling gel. Simply cook the flaxseed in the water a little longer; the longer you simmer, the thicker will be the gel.

You can use the gel according to your hair length and either store the rest or use it as a face mask. There are many variations that you can do with the flaxseed gel you can use the gel as it is or add aloe vera gel to it to enhance the nutrition profile of this mask. Sometimes I like to use it after massaging my hair with a curry leave hair oil blend. Keep it overnight and just one hour before washing my hair, I put on the flaxseed gel mask. This also works wonders when you want to double the effect.

Good news!! You don’t have to make it every other day. Make a batch according to your hair length requirements; after use, store this gel in an air-tight container. We can store this gel for a month under refrigeration.

    I am assuming this would be okay for colored hair since it’s all natural? I am for sure going to try this.
