Benefits of cayenne pepper for hair

Cayenne pepper might not seem like an ingredient you want to scrub into your scalp, but it’s surprisingly very beneficial!

The main ingredient, capsaicin, will irritate your scalp as much as it does your mouth but this scalp irritation is essential to increasing blood flow to promote hair growth.

Here’s how to make it.

1. Add ½ cup of olive oil to a bowl

Olive oil is super nourishing and moisturizing for the hair. It also makes your hair shinier and smells good.

Adding ingredients to bowl

2. Add 1 tsp of cayenne pepper

Add 1 rounded teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the bowl.

Mixing

3. Mix and microwave

Mix the two ingredients well. Warm up the mask in the microwave to just above room temperature. This should be less than 10 seconds.

You may need to let it cool down more before applying it to your scalp.

Applying mask to scalp

4. Apply to your scalp

This mask needs to be applied at the scalp, not the edges. Your scalp is where it will stimulate hair growth. It will sizzle, but that’s normal.

Leave the mask on for at least 3 hours and up to overnight. You’ll get the most out of the mask if you leave it on overnight.

I recommend doing this about two times a week and you’ll start seeing results within 3 months.
