In this tutorial, I'll show you how to apply under-eye concealer for mature skin. If you’ve got undereye bags or darkness, concealer is your best friend, but it can look cakey. Let me show you the best concealer for older women with mature skin so it looks smooth and beautiful.

Normally concealer creases into the lines. My bags don’t show up if I’m looking up but they do show when I’m looking down! Light colors bring forward and dark colors help things recede so if something is puffy, you do not want to pull it forward. Here’s how I do it!

Tools and materials:

  • Tinted face oil
  • Concealer light and medium with a sponge tip
  • Cream concealer
  • Concealer brush
Applying foundation

1. Apply foundation

I use a tinted oil foundation that’s very thin and sort of runny. I find foundation helps to knock out some of the unevenness and bluish tones. This makes the skin look more uniform and evened out. Honestly, I could stop right here!

But if I pull forward, you can see the bags underneath.

2. Apply concealers

I apply a light concealer at the outside edge of the bag. I pat it gently with my finger, keeping it confined to that area.

It helps tone down the darkness at the edges.

Then, I take a darker concealer that’s got some yellow in it. I tap it gently to the bag part. The darker tone helps push the puffiness back.

Applying cream concealer with a brush

If I’ve got a special event and I need extra coverage, I use a cream concealer with a brush.

Tips on using concealer for mature skin

This is a thicker formulation so I don’t need to build it up like you sometimes have to do with a sponge applicator type. I put this type of concealer on blue veins. When I do this, the darkness and puffiness are not as pronounced. It’s a more glammed up, made-up look!

You can see that concealer definitely helps reduce the darkness and the bags!
