I’m going to show you how to contour your face as an older woman.

As I’ve gotten older, the structure of my skin has changed. It’s softened so the bone structure isn’t as obvious as it was in my youth.

These contour hacks will help restore the idea of the bone structure to your face.

The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.

Tools and materials:

  • Bronzer
  • Blush
  • Eyeliner
Applying bronzer

1. Bronzer

Contour can look quite orange, but when it’s on your face, it gives a golden glow.

Use a big soft brush and sweep the bronzer on your temples, across your cheek, and then down and along your jawline.

These are the sort of places where the sun would naturally catch your face.

Adding blush

2. Dab on the blush to add hollows

Darker colors will make your face areas recede and brighter colors make them come forward. Since I want my cheekbones to come forward and stand out, I need to make hollows underneath.

Blush, as well as giving you a healthy glow, will give you those hollows. Don’t drop things too low since everything on your face is dropping, but you also shouldn’t go right up to where the cheekbones are.

Adding blush

Start by dabbing a mid-tone of the cool-tone blushes to create a larger area on the cheek.

It should then go up to a narrower point that’s level with the corner of the eye.

Blending

3. Blend

Sweep a blush brush in circles to blend it in.

Applying highlighter

4. Apply highlighter to bring structure forward

Apply the highlighter along your cheekbone to bring it forward. Gently tap it in with your fingers.

You can also put it just under your eyebrows to lighten and bring forward that area.

Applying highlighter

Putting it down the middle of your nose gives the illusion of a thin nose.

Lastly, I like to put a tiny dab on my Cupid’s bow to bring that forward.
