JLo's makeup & makeup artists
The photo reference I'll be using for this tutorial is JLo's Allure cover shoot. Mary Phillips was the makeup artist who created this look, but I'll be using tips from JLo's regular makeup artist, Scott Barnes, on what he usually does to make her lips look so full.
Barnes worked with Jennifer Lopez on her Vegas show, so he knows some stage makeup tricks and how to create illusions on the face. There are 2 tricks he used to make lips look fuller that I think anybody can do themselves. Read on to find out what they are!
1. Choose a lip contouring product
The first thing you’re going to need is some sort of lip contour product. You could use your regular contour or a bronzer. I’m using Makeup Revolution Mega Bronzer in the color 01 Cool.
This is one of my favorite bronzers, and it’s a cool tone, which means it doesn’t have any orange in it. This is going to help make the contouring appear more realistic.
2. Choose the right brush
Choose a makeup brush with a small, flat head to apply the contour. I’m using a Scott Barnes brush that has flat, paddle-like bristles. I mean, which makeup brush would be better to use than one designed by JLo's makeup artist?
3. Apply contour
To create the illusion of a fuller lip, I’m applying contour directly below the edge of my lower lip. JLo’s makeup artist does this for both the top and bottom lips, but I found it didn’t look right when I applied the contour to my top lip. So I am only applying it to the bottom.
Make sure to start lighter, and only add more color if needed.
4. Apply lip liner
For my upper lip, I applied a lip liner that is just a shade or two darker than my natural lip color. I’m using NYX Slide On Glide On lip liner in the color Nude Suede Shoes.
I followed the natural line of my lips, except for along the cupid’s bow. At my cupid’s bow, I connected the two peaks of my upper lip to make my lips appear fuller. I still made sure to dip inwards a bit, but not as deep as my natural cupid’s bow.
I also applied the lip liner to my lower lip, following my natural lip line.
5. Apply lip gloss
For lip gloss, I’m using Maybelline Lifter Gloss in the shade Topaz. I definitely recommend this lip gloss for everyone. It smells delightful and feels super hydrating. I simply applied the lip gloss as I normally do on top of the contour and lip liner.
6. Pull upwards
Another trick that JLo’s makeup artist recommended was to pull the lipgloss upward on your upper lip and downward on your lower lip, all along the perimeter.
The lip gloss will show up better because it grabs onto the lip liner, and this will help make your lips appear fuller, as well.

How could I get that same bronzing product that was used in this lip video. Every one I've ever tried looks dirty or orangey on me.
I appreciate your response.
