  • Hair tie
  • Hair mask
  • Restorative cream
  • Hair oil
Brushing hair

1. Brush your hair

Start by brushing your hair. This will remove all the dead hairs from your head.

Brushing your hair also helps you detangle it and make sure that all of the products that you’re going to apply will go on all of your hair and not just some of it.

Washing hair

2. Wash your hair

Now wash your hair. I washed my hair twice, first to remove dirt and a second time to actually clean the scalp and open the hair cuticles for the products that I’ll be putting on.

I applied shampoo only on my roots.

Drying hair

3. Leave to dry

Cover your hair with a towel and leave it to dry for about 15 minutes.

I find that it’s better to cover your hair with a towel like this as this way doesn’t pull as much on your roots.

Once the time has passed, brush out your hair a little bit. It will feel and look super tangled because you just used shampoo and opened the cuticles, but we're going to fix it.

Applying a hair filler

4. Apply a hair filler

Next, apply a hair filler. I use one the LaDor Perfect Hair Fill-Up. It contains collagen and keratin proteins, which helps support weak and brittle stands of hair.

The hair filler gets inside the cuticles and makes your hair super shiny and super soft. I use this product around once a month.

To use the filler, you just need to mix it with water. Make sure that every single part of your hair is covered with it, and brush it into your hair.

Once the filler is applied, tie your hair in a bun and leave it in for 15 minutes.

Rinsing hair

5. Rinse your hair

After 15 minutes, you can either rinse the hair filler away, or you can put a shower cap or plastic bag on top of your hair and heat it with a hair dryer.

Or, you could decide to leave it in for even longer and keep it overnight.

I decided to rinse my hair after 15 minutes. You have to rinse it with cold water as cold water helps to close the cuticles. While you’re rinsing your hair, brush it through to get rid of any tangles.

Applying a hair mask

6. Apply a hair mask

After rinsing it, apply a hair mask to your hair to add an extra layer of silicone to make it even more smooth.

Next, dry your hair. Be careful not to mess it up with the towel and open up all the cuticles.

Applying restorative cream

7. Apply restorative cream

For some people, up until now would be enough but I have dyed hair that is damaged, so I’m going to add more product.

If your hair is too wet, then it’s not going to absorb any product that you put in, as there will just be too much water which will prevent the product from getting to your hair.

So, the best way to apply products is when your hair has some moisture to it, but it’s not soaking wet.

The first thing I’m applying is restorative cream for damaged hair. I’m applying it with my fingers and then going in with my brush.

Applying hair oil

8. Apply hair oil

The last step is to apply an anti-frizz hair oil by spraying it onto your hands and rubbing it into your hair.

Now simply leave your hair to dry naturally or use a hairdryer.

If you do use a hairdryer, make sure you hold it above your head so that the heat is coming down onto your head as opposed to holding it up underneath your hair.
