How to Make Your Foundation Last Longer - Try This Simple Hack
In this tutorial, I will show you how to make your foundation last longer. This is a lightweight foundation technique that doesn’t require a lot of powder or baking, but it works really well. You won’t need to buy any makeup – this technique is all about the order in which you apply it. Try it for yourself!
Tools and materials:
- Setting powder
- Setting spray
- Foundation
- Concealer
- Bronzer
- Blush
- Highlighter
- Assorted makeup brushes
- Lipstick
1. Start with setting powder
Lightly dust a bit of translucent setting powder to your face to just take away any shine that may be there from your usual moisturizer.
This base layer of powder will keep your foundation from mixing with the natural oils on your face and going cakey over the course of the day.
If you have more mature skin, you can leave the powder off the area under your eyes. It is not as oily as the rest of your skin and may even be prone to drying out.
2. Add setting spray
Lightly mist a setting spray all over your face and let it dry.
3. Apply primer then foundation
If you use primer, apply it now and it will perform much better on this base you’ve just made. If you don’t use primer, go straight to the foundation.
Apply your regular foundation and gently blend it all over your face with a brush.
4. Add concealer
Now you can add your concealer under your eyes and on your eyelids, blending it in with your fingertip.

5. Finish your makeup
Complete your makeup with your usual bronzer, blush, and highlighter.
