How to Make Your Ponytail Look Like a Mermaid's Tail
In this hair tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make your ponytail look like a mermaid's tail.
If you’re bored of all your regular hairstyles and are looking for something new and out of the box, this is for you. Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Hair ties
- Crocodile clips
1. Tie ponytail
Start by tying a ponytail. Then, take a small section of hair from either side of it and clip the sections to either side of your head like so.
2. Tie second ponytail
Repeat this process by tying a second ponytail below the first one.
Then take two small sections of hair from either side of it.
Combine that with the hair that you’ve already clipped up.
3. Repeat
Continue to repeat this process all the way down your hair.
I recommend using hair ties in alternating colors like I have done, as I think that will create the most stylish look.
You don’t want to continue until you don’t have any hair left - I repeated the process seven times.
How to make your ponytail look like a mermaid's tail
Let the clips out, and here is the finished look. This hairstyle is so unique, have you ever seen anything like it?
I love how the ponytail gradually gets thinner as it goes down, and the sections of hair coming out of the ponytail get thicker. The alternating pink hair ties are also a super fun touch.
