Easy Updo for Fine and Slippery Hair
For all my thin hair girls out there, learn this easy updo with me that works great with fine, slippery hair. Just follow along with my step-by-step tutorial.
Tools and materials:
- 3 hair elastics
- Bobby pins (optional)
- Glitter headband or clips (optional)
1. Make 2 small ponytails in the back
Leave out face-framing hair. Bring the rest of your hair to the back. Then separate enough hair as if to make a half ponytail.
Split that hair in half and tie 2 low ponytails with hair elastics.
2. Turn them into topsy tails
For each ponytail, make a gap above the elastic and push the tail up and through the gap to make a topsy tail.
Pull the tails to tighten them.
3. Add volume
Gently pinch and pull at the twists of the topsy tails to loosen and add volume.
4. Join the ends in a bun
Grab all the ends of your hair and begin to wrap with a 3rd hair elastic, but don’t pull them all the way through.
Instead, grab the tail and twist upward. Secure the ends with bobby pins if you’d like.
5. Finishing touches
Pinch and fluff the hair that’s flat to your liking.
Add a fancy hair accessory.
