Tools and materials:
- Comb
- Dry shampoo
- Bobby pins
- Hair elastic
- Hair tie
1. Comb hair
Comb the length of your hair, adding a little bit of dry shampoo to the root since this helps the hair to hold the style a little bit better.
2. Separate bangs
Before you create the parting, take out your fringe or your bangs so that you've got some texture and shape around the front and then just pin them out the way.
3. Make a parting
Now we’re going to create a rope braid with a zigzag parting. Begin by forming a small diagonal triangle at the front like so.
4. Create rope braid
Then, create a second section about two finger widths apart.
Wrap the top section over the bottom one and twist them to create the first rope in your braid.
5. Continue
Continue to intertwine them by twisting one over the other. Then repeat this on the other side of your hair.
6. Tie with elastic
Once you've twisted the two sections, each reaching to the crown of your head, tie them off with a clear elastic.
7. Release bangs
Let your bangs down at the front as well as a few other tendrils of hair, take all of your remaining hair, swoop that up towards the crown of the head, and tie it off.
Zigzag hair part ponytail
And that's the rope braid ponytail with zigzag parting complete. I love the texture that this rope braid creates on the top of my head.
This hairstyle may seem intricate, but as I've demonstrated, it's surprisingly easy to achieve.
