How to Customize Your Jeans 3 Different Ways For a Totally Unique Look

In today’s tutorial, I will be showing you how to customize your jeans in three different ways. These three looks are super easy and at-home friendly. Say goodbye to old boring jeans and hello to new, cute customized ones!
Tools and materials:
- Kitchen sponge
- Pen
- Scissors
- Fabric paint
- Paintbrush
- Grommet kit
- Hammer
- Ribbon
- Bleach
- Bucket
- 3 pairs of old jeans
How to paint jeans
1. Prepare the sponge
Using a pen, draw out the shapes of the design you’re going to want on the sponge, then cut them out.
2. Paint your design
Choose your paint colors, dip the sponges into the fabric paint, and create your look.
I am going with a fun neon flower design, but this is totally customizable.
Stamp as many coats of paint as you would like.
3. Complete the transformation
Leave your jeans to dry for 24 hours, then machine wash and hang dry.
Now they are ready to wear!
DIY lace-up jeans
1. Mark the jeans
Using a pen, mark out cuts on either side of the outside seam of your jeans.
Use the width of your hand to measure the distance apart from each cut.
2. Cut the jeans
Cut small slits where your marks are. Make sure you cut the slits very small because if the slit is too big, the grommet will not close properly.
3. Put in the grommets
Hammer the grommets in place. The kits come with everything you need to do this.
Grommet kits are super easy to find online or in your local crafts store.
4. Finish the look
Choose your favorite colorful ribbon and lace up your jeans!
This look is so fun and the ribbon can be swapped out to match your outfit!
Bleach dye jeans
1. Paint with bleach
Do this outside. Dip your paintbrush in the bleach and paint your jeans to create an acid-wash look.
The more bleach you put on, the lighter your jeans will get.
2. Rinse the jeans
When you are happy with your design, wash the jeans immediately to stop the bleaching process.
Wash and dry as normal.
These ombre two-tone jeans turned out super cute and unique! The different washes are a fun effect and make the jeans wearable with so many different outfits.
How to customize your jeans
There you have it, three ways to customize your jeans! Do this with your friends as a craft activity, or by yourself to vamp up your old jeans!
Let me know in the comments if you try this at home and how the designs turn out for you.
