How to Make Your Own Eco Friendly Nut Key Ring
We all have bunches of keys nowadays and is so important to keep them safe and easy to access. So I decided when my old key ring broke to make a chunky tactile easy to find (in side your handbag) DIY new one!
I had a bunch of tactile Tagua nuts left over from other projects and they are also known as vegetable Ivory because the fruits are so hard. It’s super because they can be dyed carved and drilled and non edible. So it’s a really good way to support the environment and support communities and growers in Equador .
I use pliers to squeeze the silver jump ring to the tactile Tagua nut as it already has pre drilled holes so no need to make any more. I then fix this to the last chain link in the diy key ring . Hey presto! So easy.
I love the smooth tactile Tagua nuts and is ideal for holding your keys and seeing the lovely natural striped surface helps to see where you’ve put them.
Eco friendly that I end up making then for everyone I know!!
These Tagua nuts come in so many colours and sizes however I chose some that could be fitting into the palm of hand not too small but also not too heavy .
so pleased with my makes!
