I’ve gotten so many requests to do a tutorial on how to make a fabric bangle bracelet. So today I am going to show you! It’s so simple, so easy, and so cute! In just a few minutes, you can make bangles to go with any outfit you’d like. Let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Plain plastic bangle bracelet
  • Fabric
  • Iron
  • Fabric glue
  • Scissors

Measure and cut

To begin, I cut a 4-inch wide strip of fabric.

I then cut the 4-inch strip in half lengthwise, leaving me with two 2-inch strips.

Fold and iron

I folded in a half-inch of fabric on both long edges and ironed it down, so the fold stays in place.

Apply glue

Next, I applied fabric glue to one end of the fabric strip. I made sure to apply glue inside the folds of the fabric, as well, to secure the fabric.

Attach fabric

I pressed the gluey end of the fabric onto the inside of the bangle.

Glue and wrap

Once the end of the fabric was securely in place, I began applying glue directly to the bracelet and wrapping the fabric around. I continued wrapping until the whole bracelet was covered with fabric.

Cut

Once the bracelet was completely covered in fabric, I cut the frayed end of the strip.

Glue the end

Then I applied glue to the end of the fabric strip, making sure to get into the folds of the fabric, just like in the beginning. I folded the end inward about ½ an inch to hide the raw edge, before gluing it to the inside of the bracelet.

And that’s it. You can make them with any fabric, and bangles of any width, and they all look fantastic.

I hope you liked my fabric bangle bracelet tutorial, and if you make a fabric bangle of your own, I would love to see it.
