Quick and Easy DIY Lace-Up Denim Jacket

Instead of spending $75 on a lace-up jacket from ZARA, I decided to make my own DIY lace-up denim jacket. This tutorial is super simple and doesn’t cost anywhere near $75. Plus, it looks great!
Tools and materials:
- Denim jacket
- Marker
- Hammer
- Anvil
- Ribbon
- Ruler
- Grommets
- Scissors
Mark and measure
Using your marker and ruler, mark out where you’re planning on placing your grommets. For consistent spacing, use the lines on your ruler. Just remember to have the spacing be wide on the top and come inward as you go down the jacket.
Cut it out
Grab some scissors and start cutting out small holes by your grommet placing. Simply pinch the area and snip. Just be careful to keep the holes small. If the holes are too big the grommets will fall right through.
Place the grommets
It’s time to get down and dirty. Get your hammer out and start banging your grommets into place. Place the grommets into your jacket and surround it with an anvil. Next, put a piece of wood underneath the anvil to absorb the impact. Now start hammering!
Tie it up
Weave your ribbon through your jacket to lace it up. Secure it on the bottom with a bow and rock your brand new creation!
There it is guys; a tutorial on how to make a lace-up denim jacket. A little bit of effort, but more than worth it! Plus, by making it yourself you can totally make it your own. Get creative with the colors and ribbons and see what awesome pieces you come up with!
