DIY Stocking Stuffer Idea: Glam and Super Easy Crystal Earrings
In this DIY, I’m going to show you how to make a pair of crystal earrings.
I don’t know about you, but when it comes to the festive season, I like to look a bit extra, and I put more effort into my appearance than I do the rest of the year.
These earrings are shiny and glam and perfect for this time of year. Not to mention, they make a great gift or DIY stocking stuffer. Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Crystals and beads
- Eye pins
- Headpins
- Styrofoam balls
- Ear hooks
- Scissors
- Glue
- Wire cutters
1. Insert head pins into beads
Take the head pins and put them inside the crystals and the beads.
2. Cut the excess wire
Cut the extra tail, leaving around 1-1.15cm (0.4-0.5 inches)
3. Dip headpins in glue
Take a Styrofoam ball and some glue. Squirt some glue onto a flat surface. Dip the bottom of each headpin in glue before you insert it into the Styrofoam ball.
This will make the earrings secure and ensure that the puns don’t fall out of the ball.
4. Insert headpins into Styrofoam ball
Insert each pin into the ball and continue to do this until you have covered the whole of the Styrofoam ball.
Try to put different crystals and beads next to each other, we don’t want the same colors and designs touching one another.
5. Insert an ear hook
Take an ear hook with an eye pin attached. Glue it in the ball, the same as you did for the beads.
6. Make the other earring
Repeat with the other earring.
DIY crystal earrings
Here are the finished crystal earrings, and I am over the moon with them.
I like the contrast between the crystals and the pearly beads, as well as the different shades that we’ve got going on.
These would make a great gift to give to friends and family this festive season, and I hope you’ll give them a go!
