Red Blood Cells in an Adorable Tiny Bottle Tutorial

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make polymer clay jewelry, specifically a hemoglobin red blood cell bottle charm! Polymer clay charms are so easy and fun to make and are a great way to get into jewelry making. Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Mini glass bottle
- Dotting tool
- Head pin
- Glycerin
- Red polymer clay
- Soft pastels
- Blade
- Strong glue
- Pliers
1. Roll clay
Roll your red polymer clay into a thin rope.
2. Cut
Cut your clay rope into small pieces using a blade.
3. Shape your clay
Roll each tiny, cut piece into a small ball and then press the middle with the dotting tool to create these little red blood cell shapes.
4. Bake
Place the clay onto a baking sheet and bake.
5. Add a loop to the cork top
For the bottle, you’ll need one with a cork top. Push the headpin through the center of the cork top.
Use pliers to snip off the long end of the headpin and then push the end into the cork beside the other one to create a loop.
6. Add soft pastels
Add soft pastel shavings to the bottle.
7. Add glycerin
Fill the bottle 3/4s of the way up with glycerin.
8. Add water
Fill up the bottle the rest of the way with water.
9. Mix and shake
Mix and shake the bottle until it’s a solid color and everything has combined thoroughly.
10. Add baked pieces
Add the baked clay pieces to the bottle.
11. Secure with glue
Add glue to the bottle on top of the rest of the mixture to secure everything into place. Then replace the cork. Wipe off any excess glue that has spilled over.
