How to Fake Big Lips Over 50: Lipstick Tutorial for Mature Women

Today I’m sharing some handy dandy tricks on lipstick for mature women. If you don’t want to go the botox route and prefer to fake it, then you’ve come to the right place. Not only will I show you how to fake big lips, but you’ll get some snazzy tips for long-lasting lipstick for mature lips.
Tools and materials:
- Toothbrush
- Lip exfoliator
- Lip liner
- Lipstick
- Lip gloss
1. Exfoliate your lips
The first step is to exfoliate your lips. This will help our lips look plumper, fresher, and smoother.
There are a few ways to exfoliate your lips, and most of these ways are really inexpensive. The first way is to use your toothbrush! Take your brush and gently roll it around in small circles all over your lips. This is so easy to do and something you can do 2-3 times a week.
Another way to exfoliate your lips is with a lip scrub. You can find some super affordable ones from the drugstore. Take a little bit of the scrub, put it on your finger, and roll it around.
2. Apply lip liner
Lining your lips is a real game-changer, especially for mature women.
For most of us (including me), the fold on either corner of my lips is not as taut as it used to be. So addressing this with a lip liner can make a world of difference.
There are a few other principles I follow when lining my lips:
- Don't take the lip liner all the way down to the corners of your lips. Stop before you get to that corner, so you don’t have a soppy smudge of color by the end of the day.
- Overline the lips towards the center; make it a little higher around your vermilion line to give it a fuller dimension.
You can either follow the line or go a little higher when you get to the cupid’s bow.
Here’s how my top lip looks.
To address the bottom, again, start the line below the corner and overline the curved vermilion line as you go along.
Here’s the final result.
With the same lip liner, fill in your lips a little.
3. Apply lipstick
Apply your favorite lipstick. I’m using a lovely matte lipstick that has a creamy formula.
4. Apply lip gloss
Top off your lipstick with a bit of shiny lip gloss for the final step. Apply it right in the center of both lips for that lovely, plumper look.
