Tools and materials:

  • Mild exfoliant
  • Vitamin C serum
  • SPF moisturizer
  • Sunscreen
  • Color corrector
  • Translucent finishing powder
  • Neutral, peach, and highlighter blush
  • Eyebrow pencil
  • Lipstick
  • Eyelash curler
  • Mascara
Prepping the skin with a water-based exfoliant

1. Prep your skin

Apply mild, water-based exfoliant with a makeup pad. This will leave your skin feeling soft, supple, and hydrated.

Patting on vitamin C serum

Pat on some vitamin C serum to help protect your skin from sun damage that occurs throughout the day.

Applying a light SPF moisturizer

Add a light SPF moisturizer, especially in the summer.

Layering on high SPF sunscreen

Now layer on a high SPF (50 or higher) sunscreen on your face and neck.

Applying color corrector

2. Apply corrector

Tap on a peach-toned color corrector to any dark areas that need to be evened out. The peach tones also help to brighten your skin. If your corrector is a good match for your skin tone, then you won’t need to use concealer as well.

Applying translucent powder

3. Apply powder

Set the corrector with a translucent finishing powder. Also, use the powder to mattify the center T-zone of your face.

No foundation makeup routine

4. Time for some color

Add a neutral powder blush to the hollows of your cheeks, your temples, and, if you have a double-chin like me, to your jawline.

Applying peachy blush to cheeks

Add a small amount of peachy blush to your cheeks with a large makeup brush.

Contouring with a neutral blush

Then use a small brush to contour the sides of your nose and the hollows of your eyes with a warmer more neutral blush.

Adding highlighter to the cheekbones

Add a highlighter blush shade to the highest part of your cheekbones.

Applying highlighter to the eyes

Also apply the highlighter shade to the center of your eyelids and the inner corners of your eyes.

Filling in brows with brow pencil

5. Do your eyebrows

Fill in your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil. Then use the spoolie end of the pencil to brush out and soften your eyebrows.

Using brow pencil as eyeliner

6. Use the brow pencil as eyeliner and lip liner

Use your eyebrow pencil to draw a very thin line on the outer corners of your eyelids at the lash line.

Using brow pencil as lip liner

Use the same eyebrow pencil to outline your lips!

Smudging the lip liner

Use your fingertip to smudge out and blend in the line.

Applying a brick-toned lipstick

7. Add lipstick, of course!

Apply brick-toned nude lipstick to your lips.

Applying mascara

8. Finish with your lashes

Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara to your upper and lower lashes.
